Together, we are on a road that is worth traveling.
When you think back on these past few years, what words come to mind? For most of us, it’s limitations, loss, disruption, and uncertainty.
The impact on children around the world has been immeasurable, with learning halted and lives turned upside down. Obstacle after obstacle has blocked the children from getting the education they need to change the trajectory of their lives—but this isn’t the whole story.
There is also hope, because of what remains true.
Every girl and every boy has immense potential and capacity to discover, learn, dream, and become the people they were created to be.
Quality education is the key to unlocking that potential, as children learn in engaging, inclusive, dynamic classrooms, supported by an entire community.
Wellspring is committed to breaking down barriers that prevent children from receiving the education they deserve and to developing learning environments in which children can thrive.
Your generous partnership plays a key part in making this possible, and we are so grateful that you have chosen to be on this journey with us. Thank you!
For 18 years, Wellspring has been pouring into the teachers, leaders, and parents of Rwanda, and equipping each one with the tools to raise up a generation of creative, compassionate, and principled young people.
In 2022 alone, your partnership has allowed us to impact 113,000+ students in Rubavu district, develop equitable classrooms for over 6,500 children in Gasabo district, break down barriers to quality education for 7,500 students in Uganda, and invest in the social-emotional wellbeing of 7, 800 teenagers through a school-based resilience program.
Through this partnership of incredible educators, Rwandan families, and YOU, so much has been accomplished. And now, as we enter into a new season filled with exciting opportunities, we want to ask:
Will you help us go further?
Go further in building resilience as we partner with CorStone to deliver their Youth First Rwanda program. For the first time, Wellspring will now work in middle schools to develop resilience, promote student wellbeing, and improve educational outcomes through a focus on adolescent health.
Go further in championing equality as we take all we have learned through our Gender Responsive Formative Assessment pilot project and empower more educators to cultivate truly welcoming classrooms for both boys and girls.
Go further in expanding our borders as our Rakai School Development Program gets off the ground in Uganda, building capacity in 15 schools to provide healthy learning environments for students that equip them with the skills they need for the future.
Go further in developing blended digital solutions that combine our proven in-person mentoring with the accessibility of digital training. For years we have dreamed of impacting every district in Rwanda – a blended digital approach could make this a reality.
Go further in deepening our impact as we build capacity in new areas such as early childhood education and providing support for pre-primary teachers in the crucial areas of early development.
Wellspring remains committed to our mission:
- To seek justice, worth, and dignity for all those we engage with,
- To show the love of Christ by empowering new generations,
- Through the development of quality education in Africa.
Thank you so much for walking this road with us—especially in recent years, when the road has felt more like a roller coaster—and for continuing to believe in the potential of each child we serve.
Will you join us in this crucial work and help us go further with the ambitious projects listed above, increasing our impact in 2023 and beyond? Together, this is very possible, and gifts of all sizes make a difference.
