[one_column]Meet Gilbert Bisengo, Wellspring’s Catalyst Program Manager. He’s been part of the Wellspring team since 2008, first as one of our trainers before moving to the Catalyst program, where he now supports and mentors partner organizations. Gilbert has been an instrument of change with Wellspring for many years, and we are so thankful![/one_column]

“Wellspring has helped me to find my purpose in life, and to determine why God brought me to this earth. Thanks to Wellspring, I have found my calling. I am reminded of my favourite Bible verse, Ephesians 2:10: “For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”” – Gilbert Bisengo, Catalyst Program Manager

[one_column]Gilbert was born in the Democratic Republic of the Congo on Christmas Day, the third oldest of twelve children. At a young age, Gilbert thought he would follow in the footsteps of his father and would raise cows and dig fields for the rest of his life, but he soon found out that God had other plans! In 2002, Gilbert moved to Rwanda to attend the Kigali Institute of Education (now the University of Kigali). After graduating, Gilbert joined the Wellspring family, where he is now an active part of transformation in Rwanda’s education sector.

Currently, Gilbert is focused on the expansion of Wellspring’s partnership with AEBR (the Association of Evangelical Baptist Churches) in the Western Province (see here for more information about this project). Most days, Gilbert is astride a moto, navigating his way through dangerous roads to get to some of the most rural schools in these districts. Thanks to Gilbert and the others in the Western Province, Wellspring is expanding our reach into the areas where it is most needed. We’re so grateful for his dedication in the pursuit of quality education for all children.[/one_column]
