LET'S JOIN TOGETHER AS CHAMPIONS FOR CHILDREN'S EDUCATION!

YOU CAN EQUIP YOUNG PEOPLE WITH THE TOOLS THEY NEED TO THRIVE

MEET GLORIA

Gloria* is a high school student, a young woman of incredible courage, and someone who demonstrates the power of an education that builds skills, character, and resilience.

In this first short video, Gloria shares about the 5 years she spent out of school and her bold decision to return. As a grade 12 student stepping into a grade 7 classroom, Gloria struggled to find her place. Instead of celebrating that her learning could continue, she felt lost, alone, and uncertain about her future.

But Gloria’s story didn’t end there.

Gloria had the opportunity to join Youth First Rwanda,
a youth wellbeing and resilience program run by Wellspring, in partnership with WorldBeing.

As Gloria shares in video 2, through Youth First, she’s finding her voice. She’s setting goals for the future, and developing the skills she needs to get there. She’s learning to communicate her emotions and prioritize her wellbeing. Her sense of insecurity is being replaced with confidence. Today, Gloria is thriving.

This is the kind of transformation that you are making possible through your partnership!

Every child deserves to receive an education that builds character, sparks creativity, and nurtures wellbeing.
For young people like Gloria, and for children across Rwanda, this kind of education changes everything.

IT ALL STARTS WITH COMMUNITY

THE NEED

Incredible progress has been made in education in Rwanda over the past decade, and just last year, 93% of primary-aged children attended school. However, only 42% of children are completing their primary education, and this figure dips to 24% for the poorest children across the country. Mental health challenges are on the rise among children and youth, and the effects of intergenerational trauma are directly impacting many young people today. In a country where 75% of the population are under the age of 35, investment in the education and wellbeing of children is vital.

OUR RESPONSE

A child’s development and ability to thrive is rooted in their community. That’s why Wellspring equips entire school communities—teachers, parents, leaders, caregivers, neighbours, everyone!—to come together in creating environments where children can flourish. Together, we work to strengthen:

SCHOOLS

We train, coach, and mentor teachers and leaders, giving them the tools to create nurturing, safe, and engaging learning environments for children.

FAMILIES

We invest deeply in the health of families to ensure that children are being raised in supportive homes where education is championed.

WELLBEING

We equip schools to create cultures where wellbeing comes first, and where students are building essential life skills and tools for resilience.

OUR IMPACT

Through this community-focused work, we’re committed to developing an education for children across Rwanda that nurtures the whole child — their intellect, character, emotions, wellbeing, and resilience. In all of this, our goal is to see:

CHILDREN

equipped to fulfill their God-given potential and to build brighter futures for their families and communities.

YOUNG PEOPLE

prepared with the skills, character, and resilience they need to reach their goals and serve those around them.

A GENERATION

empowered to be the peace-builders, creative solution seekers, and compassionate leaders our world needs.

OUR INVITATION

Would you consider giving today to see children empowered with the skills, character, and resilience they need to thrive?

Together, we can play a part in seeing Rwanda’s children and youth empowered with the tools, the opportunities, and the hope they need to build a brighter future. Your gift directly impacts the lives of young people like Gloria, and thousands of children across Rwanda who are full of dreams and potential. As communities are strengthened to support children’s education and wellbeing, barriers are removed and these dreams can become reality. Your gift makes this impact possible!
