Introducing our new CEO

This week, our board of directors appointed Kevin Dixon as the new Chief Executive Officer of the Wellspring Foundation for Education beginning in August 2020. 

Kevin comes to Wellspring from a diverse background of following God’s call to see the seeds of justice grow in the world. Most recently, he served in leadership at International Justice Mission Canada, which included acting as Interim Executive Director and Vice President of Programs and Operations. Kevin is a faithful servant of the Lord and his passion for the relentless pursuit of justice coupled with merciful love entwines perfectly with Wellspring’s core values of justice, worth, and dignity. 

“I feel humbled by the invitation to serve as Wellspring’s new CEO. Wellspring’s determination to break the cycle of poverty in Rwanda through education resonates with my passion. Indeed, education is key to a promising future for Africa, especially among girls who will grow into confident women and thus contribute valuably to their nation’s social fabric. I am so impressed by the quality of Wellspring’s approach to development and excited to lead the organization into its next season,” says Kevin.

As we begin a new season with excitement here at Wellspring, we also look back in gratitude. Since 2012, Andy Harrington has served as our C.E.O., leading us with a servant heart, strategic vision, and deep faith. Wellspring has greatly benefited from his years of passion and integrity, and we’re delighted that Andy and Kevin will be working together in July to ensure a seamless transition. 

“I have known Kevin for some years and have seen both his passion for justice and strategic leadership ability lived out through words, actions, and ministry in numerous ways,” says Andy. “I’m delighted that he will be succeeding me as the CEO of Wellspring, and I have great confidence that he is the right person to lead this wonderful organization into the next phase of development.”
