Rwandan Ginger Tea
Makes 2 servings
Ingredients
- 2 cups of milk
- 1 ½ tsp. of loose black tea leaves or 2 tea bags
- 2 tbsp. of sugar
- 1 inch piece of fresh ginger
Directions
- Combine milk, tea, and sugar in a small saucepan and bring to a boil.
- Wash the piece of ginger and smash it until juices begin to flow.
- Add the ginger to the milk-tea
mixture when it begins to boil. - Reduce the heat and let it simmer for 2-3 minutes.
- Strain and serve.
